When a plague of influencers descends on their idyllic country town, a washed-up gardening guru and his daughter take matters into their own hands – literally. Armed with horticultural know-how and a can-do attitude, they begin picking off the worst offenders. But murder is messier than mulching, and the deeper they dig, the harder it is to stop.
Small town. Big body count.
Blood & Bone is a dark comedy about a hapless father and daughter who resort to murder after a plague of influencers overruns their idyllic country town. Bill was once Australia’s first gardening guru. Now his retro fame has made him a cult hero to urban influencers desperate for horticultural credibility – and his nursery ground zero for kale bars, kombucha pop-ups and curated chaos.
When an influencer dies on-site, Bill and Tansy make a pact to clean up the town – one obnoxious hipster at a time. Armed only with horticultural know-how and a can-do attitude, they begin picking off the worst offenders. But murder is messier than mulching, and they’re far from good at it. What starts as misguided justice soon spirals into a blood-soaked battle against compost, cover-ups, and their own growing moral panic.
With its irreverent tone, heartfelt core and uniquely Australian voice, Blood & Bone is Santa Clarita Diet by way of Gardening Australia with a splash of Dexter – a twisted father-daughter love story where the only thing scarier than getting caught is disappointing the other. They discover that successfully killing people is much harder than it looks on the tele and ‘trial and error’ can only get you so far before it gets you caught.
